I'd say action figures, but they probably wouldn't make a necro that looks like mine, so any of the other main characters in the GW universe

I hope this isn't being considered as a serious marketing study.
Personally, I wouldn't touch any of those items with a 10ft pole. It's shameless merchandising, I have no need for any of it, and definetely no desire for any of it. I'll give the same response I give any company that wants me to wear their logo across my chest: are you going to pay me for the advertising space? I'm not paying to be a walking billboard. And GW plushies??? I honestly don't know what to say to that, the thought boggles my mind. If other people want this stuff, great, it's a free market economy. As for me, you have my opinion, for whatever it's worth.

Actually... It's a multi-choice poll.

I was actually implying that because there was no "no option" you can't have an idea about the percentage of people who would consider this. Reason why jolting down an extreme is always a decent eyecatcher in the hope of drawing attention and getting hopefully a change (standard marketing tactic).
However, to break even on merchandise like this you need a lot more then 600 sales that you have now not to mention that the diversification within the poll will also hamper the returns due to own market competition (product cannibalizing). Normally a 2 or 3 options + none option should offer the best way of getting a reasonable result.
And trust me if there are only 600 sales then the cost associated with marketingcosts, research and design and lastly productioncosts (naturally also the time+costs of some of the big shot managers) easilly outweigh the returns.
but meh, if Anet was serious about such an offer they would offer such a poll within game or even on their own website seeing as that would draw the intention of more people and give a better result then taking a small testcase from the diehard fans.

Still quality is key here...I think a lot of people are wanting GW merchandise. But if the quality is crap you can lose a lot of customers real quick.
Specifically action figures have that. Take for example the Lord of the Rings action figures made by Toy Biz...great stuff. But I recently went to their site just to see what they were doing and looked at the Marvel Heroes...not so good...
Spawn has some great action figures too...and quality is good.
Mind you, I own hundreds of LotR action figures cause they are well done. I love Babylon 5 to bits but could never buy their action figures cause they were done crap.
Just saying that people aren't gonna keep buying stuff just cause it says GW on it, but also because it's a good product they can enjoy using.
I'd rather spend 25 or 30 bucks on a good action figure than 15 on a crappy one...that's when you feel you wasted your money.

A quick survey of our guild provided uniform agreement that we would purchase all except plushies and hats.
There was also strong interest in customizable items, such as T-shirts or hoodies incorporating our characters. There was also willingness to pay a significant premium for such items. For example, if an uncustomized t-shirt went for, say $30, we were in agreement that we'd pay $60+ for a customizable high-quality item.
So, just do it.
If only you had an amazing art department which could ensure that the designs were truly extraordinary. But then, you do.
(And, IMHO, it needn't wait for GW2. Next week would be just fine.)

I'd like to see all of them.
The plushies should be:
Charr(most popular in this thread)
Tengu
Warthog
Kurzick juggarnaut
ect.
I'd like to see guild wars capes(probably perfect for halloween costumes).

-Mugs with skill symbols on them! I know I would love Zealous Benediction with my orange pekoe.
-Plushie Charr!
-You can't go wrong with posters. Eve, Shiro, Varesh, Luxons abusing Kurzicks, Zhed abusing Ruby Djinn . . . you have talented artists, and I'm sure a massive canvas would be a treat.

I love the Charr Slippers idea!!! I'd buy those.
Here's one that hasn't been mentioned yet, I don't think. How about a GW: Trading Card Game? Too much? Ok then, how about just a customized deck of normal cards.
Kings = Togo, King Ironhammer, King of Ascalon, ?
Queens = Devona, Cynn, Varesh, Koromir
Jacks = Rurik, Mhenlo, Dunkoro, Koss
and all the other cards show a popular character from the game. Backs of the cards have the GW logo.
I'd also like to see an array of customized items with your character on them. Mousepads, coffee mugs, T-Shirts action figures and decks of cards with your character as the back. I'd except the action figures to be relatively pricey in order to get the necessary detail for your character.
The customized items should be ordered thru an interactive menu where you first choose:
- Which character
- Select a pose. (Attacking, casting, standing, sitting)
- Show weapons and shield?
- Select a background. (Choice of 10 options. Ascalon, Kryta, Shing Jea, Snowy, etc)
- Rangers can select with/without pet.
